Coming from Arc

Arc shuts down on December 22, 2026. Keep your command bar habits in Chrome by searching tabs, opening sites and copying links from one shortcut.

Commands

Copy URL
Copy the address of the page you’re on
Copy as Markdown Link
Copy the page as a Markdown link
Reopen Closed Tab
Bring back a tab or window you closed
Close Duplicate Tabs
Close repeated tabs in this window
Snooze This Tab
Close a tab now and have it come back later
Group Tabs by Domain
Sort this window’s tabs into one group per site

If you’re moving from Arc to Chrome, the thing you’ll probably miss first is the command bar: press ⌘ Cmd T, type a few letters, and land on the tab, site or setting you wanted. Vokto gives Chrome a box that works the same way, so that habit can come with you.

Your new shortcut

Press ⌘ Cmd Shift K on a Mac, or Ctrl Shift K on Windows. Want something closer to what your fingers already know? Pick a different shortcut at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Settings has the details.

What you used the command bar for

In Arc, you’d type… In Vokto
The name of a tab Type it the same way, or start with t: to see only tabs
An address or a search Type it and press Enter; searches use your default engine
A page from last week Type h: and a few words you remember
A command like “pin” Highlight the tab, then press ⌥ Option Enter for pin, mute and more
“settings” Chrome Settings or Vokto Settings, plus Chrome’s other pages

If the page you’re opening is already in a tab, Vokto switches to that tab instead of opening a second copy.

Switch and manage tabs, Open sites and search the web and History and bookmarks go deeper.

In Arc, ⌘ Cmd Shift C copied the page’s address. In Vokto, type copy and pick the one you need: Copy URL, Copy URL (Clean) without tracking bits like utm_source, or Copy as Markdown Link. Copy links and page content lists the rest.

Keeping tabs under control

Arc tidied old tabs away for you. Chrome doesn’t, but a few commands help:

  • Close Duplicate Tabs closes repeats in the window you’re in.
  • Snooze This Tab closes a tab and brings it back when you choose, like tomorrow morning. See Snooze tabs.
  • Reopen Closed Tab brings back something you closed too soon.
  • Group Tabs by Domain sorts a crowded window into Chrome’s tab groups, one per site. See Tab groups.

What Vokto doesn’t replace

Vokto is a command palette, not a new browser. It doesn’t bring back Arc’s sidebar, Spaces, Little Arc, Split View or Boosts. What it does replace is the part you reached for dozens of times a day: one shortcut, a few letters, Enter.

Vokto also works in Edge, Brave and Opera if Chrome isn’t where you’re headed. It has no account and no servers, and your tabs and history never leave your browser. Getting started covers the rest of the basics.

Arc is a product of The Browser Company. Vokto isn’t affiliated with it.
