With dozens of tabs open, finding the right one by squinting at tiny icons takes a while. Type a few letters of its title or address and press Enter instead.
Switch to a tab
Your open tabs show up as you type. Type t: first to see only tabs. The
one you’re on is marked Current Tab.
⌥ Option Enter (Alt Enter on Windows and Linux) on a tab lets you switch to it, close it, pin or mute it, duplicate it, or move it to a new window.
Save a set of tabs for later
Save Current Tabs as Session… asks for a name, with today’s date and time filled in, and saves the tabs in this window under it. Search for the name later and press Enter on it: Open All Tabs brings them all back, or pick a single tab from the list. Delete Session removes it when you’re done.
Tidy up
Close Duplicate Tabs closes repeats in this window. It keeps the tab
you’re on, and the first copy of every other page. Addresses that differ only after a # count as
the same page.
Close Other Tabs… and Close Tabs to the Right… count first and ask you to confirm with a row like “Close 4 Other Tabs”. If there’s nothing to close, they say so.
Suspend Background Tabs unloads the other tabs in this window. They stay in the tab strip and reload when you click them.
None of these touch pinned tabs. Close This Tab closes the one you’re on.
Bring a tab back
Reopen Closed Tab… lists up to 25 tabs and windows you closed recently, with the site and how long ago. Pick one to restore it. A closed window comes back with its tabs.
Windows
New Window opens an empty window. Move Tab to Window… lists your other windows, each named after the tab showing in it, plus a new window. If you only have one window, the tab goes straight to a new one. Private and regular windows never mix.
Quiet a noisy site
Mute / Unmute Domain mutes every tab from the site you’re on, and new tabs from that site open muted too until you unmute it.
