Clipboard history

Get back something you copied earlier, even after copying something else over it. Turn it on in Settings, then type c: to search.

Skip the menus: type c: in the palette.

Commands

Clear Clipboard History
Empty the list of text you’ve copied

You copied a tracking number ten minutes ago, then copied a link over it. Normally it’s gone. With clipboard history on, Vokto keeps the text you copy and cut, so you can bring an earlier one back.

Turn it on

Clipboard history is off until you switch it on. Open Vokto Settings… from the palette and turn on Clipboard history.

If you type c: while it’s off, you’ll see a row saying so. Press Enter on it to go straight to Settings.

Find something you copied

  1. Open the palette and type c:.
  2. Keep typing to filter, or move through the list with ↑ and ↓. Each row shows the start of the text and how long ago you copied it.
  3. Press Enter. The text is back on your clipboard, ready to paste.

Your copies only show up after c:. They stay out of the normal search, so something you copied won’t pop up while you’re looking for a tab or a command.

What it keeps

It saves text you copy or cut on web pages, not in other apps. A page can’t add entries on its own, nothing typed into a password field is ever saved, and private windows are skipped.

The list holds up to 100 entries. Once it’s full, the oldest one drops off to make room. Very long text is cut down to its first 16,000 characters.

Where it’s stored

Your clipboard history stays in your browser on this computer. It’s never uploaded, and Vokto has no servers to send it to. Clear Clipboard History, at the bottom of the c: list, empties it whenever you like. The privacy policy covers what Vokto stores and where.
