Clear site data and recent browsing

Fix a site that’s misbehaving by clearing just its cookies, cache and saved data, or wipe the last hour of browsing in one step.

Commands

Clear Website Data
Cookies, cache and saved data for this site, all at once
Clear Cookies
Remove this site’s cookies
Clear Cache
Make this site load fresh copies of its files
Clear localStorage
Remove data this site keeps in your browser
Clear sessionStorage
Remove data this site saved for this tab only
Clear Last Hour of Browsing...
Delete history, cookies and cached files from the past hour

A site acts up. A sign-in loops, an old version won’t refresh, a cart won’t empty. Clearing what that one site has saved often fixes it, and you don’t have to wipe data for every other site to do it.

Clear data for one site

These commands only affect the site in the tab you’re on:

  • Clear Website Data removes the site’s cookies, cached files and saved data together. Start here if you’re not sure what’s wrong.
  • Clear Cookies removes only this site’s cookies. Expect to be signed out of it.
  • Clear Cache removes the site’s cached files, so it downloads fresh copies the next time it loads.
  • Clear localStorage and Clear sessionStorage remove data the site saved in your browser, the second one for the current tab only. They’re mostly useful if you build or test websites.

Clear Website Data and Clear Cookies ask first. A row names exactly what will happen, like “Delete Cookies for example.com”, with Cancel right below it.

Vokto never shows, copies or sends your cookies. These commands only delete them.

Clear the last hour of browsing

Want the past hour gone, across every site? Clear Last Hour of Browsing…, under Quick Actions, deletes the past hour’s history, cookies and site data, and cached files. It’s the same as Chrome’s own “Last hour” option.

It asks you to confirm with “Delete the Last Hour’s Browsing Data” or Cancel. Keep in mind that it can sign you out of sites you visited in that hour.

For other time ranges, Clear Browsing Data opens Chrome’s own page for it. See Jump to Chrome’s own pages.
