Everything Vokto can do
Vokto is a free browser extension that puts a command palette on every website. Press ⌘ Cmd Shift K on a Mac, or Ctrl Shift K on Windows and Linux, type what you’re after, and press Enter. These pages walk through each thing it can do.
Start here
- Getting startedOpen Vokto with one shortcut, type what you’re looking for, and press Enter. Here’s how the palette works and how it learns your habits.
- Keyboard shortcutsEvery key that works in the palette, and the short prefixes that limit a search to your tabs, history, bookmarks and more.
- SettingsChoose light or dark mode, pick how the palette opens and closes, turn on clipboard history, and set your translation language.
Find things
- Links on the pageJump to any link on the page by typing a few letters of it, or move around a site with Home, Up and Next Page.
- Open sites and search the webType an address to go straight there, or send what you typed to your own search engine when nothing in Vokto matches.
- Search a site with a keywordType a short keyword and a colon, like yt: or wiki:, to search YouTube, Wikipedia or 13 other sites from the palette.
- History and bookmarksFind a page you visited last week or saved months ago. Type h: for history or b: for bookmarks, then a few words.
- Reading List and tabs from other devicesSave pages to Chrome’s Reading List for later, and open tabs you left open on your phone or another computer.
Tabs
- Switch and manage tabsFind any open tab by typing part of its name, then close, mute, move or bring back tabs without touching the mouse.
- Tab groupsSort your tabs into Chrome’s tab groups by site, add a tab to a group, or rename one, without right-clicking through menus.
- Rename a tabGive a tab a name you’ll recognize, like “Q3 budget” instead of “Untitled spreadsheet”, and keep it through reloads.
- Snooze tabsClose a tab now and have it come back when you’re ready for it, like tomorrow morning or in two hours. Type the time in plain words.
Work with the page
- Buttons and formsPress a button on the page by typing its name, and copy, paste or test-fill whole forms from the keyboard.
- Act on selected textSelect some text on a page, open Vokto, and search for it, quote it with its source, or count its words.
- Translate pages and textTranslate a whole page, the text you selected, or a quick phrase like “hello in german”, right from the palette.
- Copy and export tablesGrab any table on a web page as a spreadsheet file, a Markdown table or JSON, without selecting cells by hand.
- Copy links and page contentCopy a page’s link, title or text in the format you need, send it by email, and handle everyday page chores without the mouse.
- QR codesShow a QR code for this page so your phone can open it, or read the QR codes already on the page without pointing your phone at the screen.
- ScreenshotsCapture what’s on screen, or the whole page from top to bottom, as one image. It goes straight to your clipboard, ready to paste.
- Download images, video and filesSee the images, videos, audio and documents on a page in one list, then download, copy or open the one you want.
- Shortcuts for Gmail, GitHub and moreOn Gmail, GitHub, YouTube and other popular sites, Vokto adds that site’s everyday actions, like writing an email or opening a new issue.
Answers and tools
- Calculator and conversionsType math, units, time zones, or dates straight into the palette and get the answer as you type. Press Enter to copy it.
- Random test dataMake up a strong password, a fake name, a safe test card number or a paragraph of filler text in a keystroke. Vokto copies it for you.
- Clipboard historyGet back something you copied earlier, even after copying something else over it. Turn it on in Settings, then type c: to search.
- Send a page to an AI chatOpen the page you’re reading in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or another AI chat, ready for your question. Vokto needs no account or API key.
Reading and accessibility
- Reader view, dark page and moreChange how a page looks when it’s hard to read. Show just the article, darken it or enlarge the text. Most modes are remembered for each site.
- Dyslexia-friendly reading and color visionMake dense text easier to read with extra spacing and a clearer font, or adjust a page’s colors so shades that look alike are easier to tell apart.
Browser and privacy
- Clear site data and recent browsingFix a site that’s misbehaving by clearing just its cookies, cache and saved data, or wipe the last hour of browsing in one step.
- Jump to Chrome’s own pagesOpen Chrome’s settings, passwords, downloads or extensions by typing their name, without digging through menus.
